PUBLIC NOTICE OF SIERRA VIEW ELECTION RESULTS

The annual General Membership Meeting of Sierra View Association took place on Sunday, October 5, 2008.  Two important issues discussed at this meeting were the:

  • Election of new members to the board of directors.
  • Proposed dues increase

This article serves as public notice of the results of these votes, and is being published in accordance with Article VIII, Section 5(g), of the Sierra View Bylaws, which states “…the results of all ballot counts shall be published in the Association newspaper.”

Election of new members to the board of directors

The following candidates received the most votes in this year’s election.  These directors will begin their three-year term of office on January 1, 2009.

  • John DePaul
  • Steve Malaico (Incumbent)
  • John Verhage (Incumbent)

The names of all individuals who received votes, and the number of votes received, were read aloud at the General Membership meeting and are logged in the official minutes.

Proposed Dues Increase

By a vote of 73 yes and 47 no, a dues increase was passed. Of the three options included on the ballot, Option 3 – to increase dues by $20.00 per year for the next three years, was the favorable option and passed by the Board of Directors.

Option 3 will gradually increase your dues to $180 per year in 2011 and beyond.  This option generates the revenue required to operate in 2009 and provides for the gradual increase in later years that enables the board of directors to maintain the common area, provide community events, continue to operate our funded groups, and help ensure adequate operations in later years.

Effective with your 2009 invoice is the first of three increases, increasing your dues to $140.00 for 2009.
